Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you do commissions?
A: Yes.
I am first and foremost a commission artist and do original wildlife pieces when my schedule allows.
Q: What do you need from me for a portrait?
A: A good, high quality photo where the light shows your pet in their true colouring.
If your reference photo has been taken by a professional photographer you will need permission from the photographer for me to use it.
Q: Can you paint from an original hard copy photo if I send it to you?
A: Yes.
As long as the original photo is of good quality and not blurred, I can work from it and return it to you along with the finished portrait.
Q: Do you draw from life or from photos?
A: I work from photos.
Q: Can you use 2 different photos for a double portrait / Can you paint my pets together if the photos were taken separately?
A: Yes.
Your pets don't need to be posed or photographed together for me to replicate them in art. I can put together a piece using multiple photos and make them look as if they have been posed together.
Q: How does payment work?
A: A 50% deposit at the time of booking, secures your portrait slot. Then the remaining 50% upon completion.
I am happy to offer a scheduled payment plan if that would work better for you, just ask when booking.
Q: Do you ship outside of the UK?
A: Yes.
I ship worldwide. I have created portraits and sent them to countries from the USA to Australia and everywhere in between.
Q: How should I frame my portrait when I receive it?
A: I would highly recommend visiting a professional framer and asking their advice on this, as they will be able to guide you in the best method of framing to compliment the piece.
Q: How much does shipping cost?
A: It very much varies on the size of the item and which country I will be shipping it to. Just let me know at the time of booking where you are and I will get you a shipping quote.
